A new International Electromatics track is now available on SoundCloud. Richard has constructed and performed a fantastic electronic track based on my Sci Fi lyrics. Rather than a Dystopian theme this is more about disappointment at the Utopia that never happened.

In the 1890s, the artist Fred Jane created a series of illustrations for the Pall Mall Gazette. The theme was what would, or could, the world be like in the year 2000. It fell short of his imaginings and seventeen years on we’re not there yet. The future was meant to be a great party with balloons in the sky and non-polluting inexhaustable energy, wasn’t it. Listening to it now about a year after I wrote the lyrics it also sounds like a break up song but it wasn’t meant to be. Maybe breaking up with a flawed world and hoping for a better world to come.
